We continue to closely monitor the updates regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19) and its global impact, we are working on safety protocols and have added extra safety measures and protocols to protect you during your stay in Niagara-on-the-Lake and for guests staying at demi's place b&b.

To ensure the safety of our guests, and help flatten the curve of Coronavirus we temporary suspended bookings at demi's place b&b.
June 5, 2020 - The town is slowly starting to open, restricting restaurants to take out only. Some shops on Queen Street are open with limited shoppers allowed inside. The Shaw Theatre is still closed and has not given a date when they will be resume their performance schedules. Most wineries are open for curbside pick up and a limited number of guests inside for tastings, booking ahead is preferred.
August 2020 - we re-opened demi's place b&b, with precautions and safety measures geared to our guests well being.
After you have decided to book at demi’s place b&b, and your reservation is confirmed, the next step is to review our COVID-19 Easy Guest Check-in Form. By answering these health questions in advance of your booking, you have a minimal hand to hand contact with your host. We have added a section for entering your credit card information. (It is optional, but we do recommend you use it to ease the check in process.) Make sure you sign the form and submit it 24 hours prior to check in date.
On the day you check in: Wait in your Car: Call our home when you arrive and wait in your car until we call you into the house. Wear a Mask: Guests staying at demi’s place b&b are required to wear a face mask when in public areas of our house, and to keep a safe distance of 2 meters (6 feet) from others. We also will be wearing a mask and keeping a safe distance. Use Hand Sanitizer: We have hand sanitizer accessible and encourage guests to use it when entering the house and touching high traffic areas in the house. Extra Time for Cleaning: We are spacing our reservations farther apart, allowing us more time to clean and disinfect guests’ rooms. Our goal is to still have the same high standards you have been accustomed to. We will be using cleaning products that may be sensitive to some individuals, but this is necessary to clean and disinfect. Pre-Credit Card Payment: As a way of having a hands free check-in we have designed a COVID-19 Easy Guest Check-in Form, answer the health questions and fill out your credit card information and submit 24 hrs prior to arrival date.
Breakfast Menu: Take a look at our new menu options, as breakfast service is not typical. If you have any food allergies, please let us know on the form.

Typically, when staying in a b&b, guests look forward to meeting new people and lively conversation when sitting all together around the dinning room table in the mornings. But given the requirements for social distancing we are offering an alternative to our typical breakfast. When more than one couple is staying in the house, breakfast will be available at staggering times 8:30, 9:00am. (Sorry this does not allow for linger around after breakfast.) We have a new altered breakfast menu available for you to make selections from, submit it by 7pm the night before in order for us to be ready for breakfast the next morning. For most B&B stays of 1-4 days, we will not be doing daily housekeeping. You will find garbage bags in the bottom of the garbage can, please use them to bring down your garbage, we have a recycling bin for empty bottles in the dining room. We will freshen up towels and/amenities on request. Just let us know what you need. Towels can be put in a clear plastic bag making it easier for us to know it is not garbage. Any used glasses can be brought down to the dinning room and we will exchange them for fresh ones. On the morning you check out, please help us stop the spread of any viruses, place used bed sheets and pillow covers in the blue bag (found in the closet) and leave in the closet.
Only guests who are booked at demi’s place are permitted in the house and on the grounds. In the past guests entertained friends in the backyard under the gazebo, due to the current situation we ask you to please refrain from this practice.
Unfortunately the hot tub is not available this season.
We continue to monitor updates provided by the government, public health authorities, and medical professionals. We are doing our best to ensure the well-being of our guests and continuing to uphold the highest of standards.
Until a time that a universal vaccine is available, this is our new normal.
If you become sick while on vacation:
If you are sick or have any symptoms (fever, sore throat, cough, trouble breathing, etc.) before or after you arrive, please notify us as soon as possible. There is a walk-in doctors office in Virgil. Make sure you bring your Health card or if you are from outside Canada, you will have to pay when seen, you can later submit the payment to your travel insurance. No guests will be permitted to stay if they are demonstrating any COVID-19 symptoms.
We greatly appreciate you giving us the opportunity to share our home with you. If you wish to book all 3 rooms for one family group, please ask us about this possibility. If you need to cancel, we do suggest you convert your booking to a Gift Certificate, they never expire. Your patience and understanding are appreciated as we evolve our business to ensure your ultimate health, safety, and comfort.
